Venue


The workshop will take place in Kasteel van Oijen, which is located on the Meuse near the city of Oss.

The workshop rooms and accomodation are all inside this historic castle. Detailed travel information can be found below.

Travel Information

Castle van Oijen is located at about 2 km from the village of Macharen, at 9 km from the town of Oss, and at 25 km from the city of Den Bosch (a.k.a. ``'s-Hertogenbosch'').

By Plane

When arriving by plane, your best options are to fly to either Schiphol Airport or Eindhoven Airport, and then take a train to Den Bosch.

By Long-Distance Train

When arriving by train, you want to either make your way to Den Bosch (when coming from the north, west, or south) or to Nijmegen (when coming from the east).

By Local Train

From either Den Bosch or Nijmegen, you can take a local train (``sprinter'') to Oss.

By Bus

From Oss, you can take a bus to Macharen (``dorpsstraat''), which is the closest bus stop to the venue (about 2km).

By Taxi

You can take a taxi directly to the venue either from Den Bosch or Oss train stations, where taxi stands are available, or from Macharen if you reserve in advance.

By Car

It is also possible to drive to the venue. There is parking available on the grounds.

Grounds

The workshop will take place in several buildings on the Oijen Castle Grounds.

The main buildings are (A) West Castle, (B) East Castle, (C) Farmhouse, and (D) Tavern. Guest rooms are located in buildings (A), (B), and (C). On the grounds there is also a castle garden, as well as parking.

(A) West Castle (``Kasteel Westvleugel'')

Building (A) houses guest rooms 1-6, as well as three smaller common rooms.

(B) East Castle (``Kasteel Oostvleugel'')

Building (B) houses guest rooms 7-16, as well as the mail dining hall (``eetzaal'').

(C) Farmhouse (``Kasteelboerderij'')

Building (C) houses guest rooms 17-25, as well as two smaller common rooms.

(D) Tavern (``Herberg'')

Building (D) is a single open space, and will be used only for the wrap-up session on Friday.
